Diana L. Ross is the founder of the Ross School of Music in Montclair, California, where she fosters a community focused on both musical growth and developing lasting friendships among students. With over 30 years of experience as a Piano Teacher, Diana specializes in the transformative Simply Music Method, helping students develop a deep, lifelong connection with the piano.
Her passion for music began early, learning by ear from her parents at the Miracle Music School they founded in Los Angeles. Over the years, Diana has enjoyed playing various instruments, including the Bass Guitar, Trumpet, Trombone, Drums, Saxophone, Marimba, and Hammond Organ. By the age of twelve, she earned her first job as a church pianist.
Diana’s approach to teaching has evolved from a traditional reading-based program to the Simply Music Method, which she found to be a turning point in her career. The method allows her students to explore and express themselves musically, beyond just reading notes, and within their first year, they can play Classical, Contemporary, Blues, Gospel, Accompaniment, Composition, and Improvisation.
She has been the Minister of Music at St. Paul AME Church for 25 years and serves as the Music Director of Official Biz, a Funk and R&B Band that produces their own albums and performs on various stages. Diana’s mission is to ensure that every piano student develops a lifelong connection with the piano, making it a lifelong companion.
